Calorie Talk FAQs
How do you estimate calories?
When you log a meal or workout using the microphone button, we perform voice to text on your device. This translated text gets processed by AI hosted in the cloud to provide an estimate of how many calories you consumed or, in the case of a workout, how many calories you burned.
How do I delete a meal or workout?
Just swipe left and the app will delete a workout or meal. You can always add it back if you delete something accidentally and all of your calories will be re-calculated.
Can I edit a workout or meal?
Absolutely, just tap on a meal or workout in your feed and edit the calories, time, or description.
What is Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR)?
Basal Metabolic Rate (or BMR for short) refers to the number of calories your body needs to perform basic life-sustaining functions while at rest, like breathing, circulating blood, and maintaining body temperature. It's the amount of energy your body requires to keep functioning, making up the majority of the daily energy expenditure for most people. This rate varies based on factors like age, gender, height and weight. Calorie Talk uses your BMR to calculate your calorie burn over time.
